about me

I began my love of photography when I left home at 18 to travel the world. Over the years I have immersed myself in various techniques and subjects. My artwork is inspired by my travels, the natural beauty of the outdoors, and the connection we have with the people, land, animals and objects around us. I am incredibly moved by the work of Leonard Missoni, and Robert Demachy. I work with a variety of mediums including photography, watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media to create original pieces of art.I have been honored to showcase my art in gallery shows in Sun Valley, Idaho and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Additionally, I have had the privilege of working on commercial projects for hospitals, hotels, casinos, and spas. My work can also be found in private collections worldwide.  I also offer private commission shoots and prints in various sizes, on canvas, linen, fine art paper, and metal.

history

1990-2000

Sun Valley, Idaho

I moved to Sun Valley Idaho after studying photography at Boise State University, with professor Howard Huff. I found my niche photographing women through all their stages of life, boudoir, maternity, professional portraits, and family portraits. It was also during this time I was printing my work on large scale canvases and painting over the top with acrylic glaze.  I was also honored to be mentored by photographer Tina Barney, she gave me the confidence to pursue my passion and coached me through several transformative assignments. I showed at several galleries In Sun Valley and have the privilege of being part of several private collections.

2001-2009

Jackson, Wyoming

After 10 years in the Wood River Valley area, I moved to Jackson with my husband and our two sons. I continued my photography work there, expanding into commercial work. I was part of a 2 year photography project for two casino's, one in Missouri and the other in Louisiana. It was during this time I placed my work in exclusive homes, hotel spas, and also showed my work at several local galleries.

2010 - 2015

Healdsburg, California to Bend Oregon

2016 - present

Boise, Idaho to Fruitvale Idaho

It was during this time I began to explore working with my photographs in a mixed media context. I was intrigued by the process of using my photographs, along with found objects, acrylic paint, resin and wood. I was part of an all women art collective in Bend Oregon and showed and sold my work at several private art gatherings. I also had a small shop and studio where I sold my art and photography services.

The last 10 years have taken me full circle and back to the mountains of Idaho where I was born. During the early part of this period of time I have had three large pieces hung in the surgery center in one of the largest Hospitals in the treasure valley.  I have recently explored the medium of watercolor painting, inspired by the 18th century photographer Leonard Missoni. The last 5 years have brought horses into my life, and I now have a new love, as we own four beautiful horses whom I photograph regularly, as seen in my equine photograph work.
